Opening in 2023, Rixos Qetaifan Island North will comprise a 345-key hotel, along with a souq encompassing 11,000sqm of leasing space, a beach club, a theme park, and a waterpark. The resort will boast panoramic views of the Arabian Gulf. Rixos plans to provide a platform for showcasing Qatar as a tourism destination. One of the country’s biggest draws will be Qetaifan Island North’s Waterpark attraction. The Icon Tower is the world’s highest tower of its kind, reaching 82 metres.
Engineering Storekeeper
This position ensures Areas of responsibility include Restaurants/Bars and Room Service, if applicable. Assists in the daily supervision of restaurant operations and assists with menu planning, maintains sanitation standards and assists servers and hosts on the floor during peak meal periods. Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction. Determines training needed to accomplish goals, then implements plan.

What you will be doing:
  • The ability to manage engineering store workforce
  • The ability to oversee spare parts availability
  • The ability to maintain stock level
  • The ability to communicate with local and foreign vendors/suppliers for the purchasing and delivery of materials, parts and services.
  • The ability to improve availability
  • The ability to improve reliability
  • The ability to perform spare parts inventory
  • The ability to manage store inventory by establishing
  • The ability to purchase right & quality materials and spare parts
  • The ability to source-our alternative suppliers for cost-effective and better-quality parts and materials
  • The ability to coordinate and effective communication with suppliers
  • The ability to reduce cost and manage agreements
  • The ability to improve availability
  • The ability to assist in planning and implementing procedures, systems and controls to ensure an efficient engineering department.
  • The ability to directly supervise personnel in carrying out work schedules as well as spot-checking to verify quality and employee performance.
  • The ability to maintain logs on movement of stock items and tools.
  • The ability to maintain par stocks and the distribution of items.
  • The ability to handle the purchasing of equipment replacement parts and repairs. This includes contacting vendors for best prices, writing purchase orders, receiving goods and completing projects.
  • The ability to set-up fire line safety system, valve locations and other emergency procedures that involves the department.
  • The ability to ensure effective communication and good relations between the engineering department and other departments in the hotel.
  • The ability to prepare and follow through on any projects as outlined by senior management.
  • The ability to ensure timely completion of all assigned responsibilities.
  • The ability to assist in developing and maintaining an energy conservation program allowing the hotel to meet its annual budget targets.
  • The ability to prepare requisitions for purchase and work orders and liaise efficiently with the Maintenance Manager on such matters.
  • The ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the high standards of Rixos Brand and encourage staff to do the same.
  • The ability to maintain a good working relationship with other employees, providing instruction and encouragement as needed.
  • The ability to evaluate and monitor training programs (such as safety and emergency procedures) for all new and current department colleagues in order to ensure the safety of our guests and colleagues.
  • The ability to ensure a clean, neat and organized work area.
  • The ability to attend and participate in all required meetings.
  • The ability to respond properly in any hotel emergency or life safety situation.
  • The ability to perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
Your experience and skills include:
  • Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Knowledge of spare parts management, hotel spare parts, equipment knowledge, mechanical and electrical systems and HVAC systems and BMS all the materials knowledge.
  • College Diploma with Business administration or management courses or Computer course or Engineering course.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Store Management.
  • Four/Two years engineering university graduate (Mechanical or Electrical/Electronical Engineering) or equivalent desirable.
